One of the problems that we have users of smartphones is the lack of space to store all what we would like. This can be solved by accessing a "hard disk" online to be able to manage our files. There are many applications and services that offer this remote storage, as for example, Dropbox, probably the most known and used by the majority of Internet users. Another service is that today I discussed in this entry, is Wuala, the service of remote storage of LACIE, mostly known for the manufacture of hard drives. Your service has been running for quite some time and is becoming more popular among users, and now finally brings official for Android application.
Wuala is a service of storage of files on the internet, very similar to Dropbox but with some feature that differentiates. For those who may not know such services, it is a tool with which we can create a hard disk "virtual" in Wuala servers and thus be able to store data in, and can modify, upload, or delete any file within the space that we have.
It is really useful to be able to access our files or documents from anywhere, since apart from the application for Android that we present today, Wuala has support online via the web, as well as applications for all major platforms like Windows, Mac OSX and now ANDROID.
Logically to our hard drive access "virtual" alone may be through a user name and password for our Wualaaccount, but we may share with other users, choose who has access to which folders. LACIE ensures that Wuala is a completely safe service, since apparently data that we got on our hard drive are ciphers and duplication by saving them ensures this security offered by.
With regard to the application for Android, its major asset continues to be the privacy of the user already that does not transmit in any case the user data to the servers of Wuala. In the same way, the application does not have access to our files on the phone, by preventing that our files this can be seen. With the application for Android can see the files that we have on our hard drive, download them and even upload new files. LACIE has recently updated the application and more and can do more features, approaching its desktop versions. Let us hope that all the functions that can give us Wuala go is implemented in future updates.
To begin with, nothing more register offer us for free 1 Gb of space, which can be expanded through the purchase of more space (paying clear is) either sharing the space of our own hard drive with the Wuala (this is one of the main differences with Dropbox). (C)uanto more space share the disk and more time we have the open service (the computer on) more space itself will get. It is a good idea to get more space for free, but it must be borne in mind that all this is achieved thanks to the "wear and tear" of our team and our hard drive.
