Thanks to HTC, we had the opportunity to test the newly come out to the marking of the HTC, the htc desire SHouse. They have sent us a terminal that I am taking the opportunity to enjoy and that will move to assess this article, and in others, the device. First of all I'm going to focus on the hardware and materials that brings the terminal, for later times, focus on software and on how the phone.
This terminal has the following hardware:
CPU 1 GhzMemoria speed ROM: 1.1 GbMemoria RAM: 768 Mbscreen SLCD touch 3.7 inches with resolution operating 480X800Sistema: Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread with HTC Sense 2.1) (rear)Main camera : 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and Flash led. Recording in HD at 720 pFront camera for video conferencing VGA.Slot for expansion with Micro SD card (SD 2.0 compatible) connector Audio stereo 3.5 mmMicroUSB standard of 5 rechargeable patillasBatería of 1450 mAh.Sensors proximity, compass, ambient light and G-SensorTipos of network admitted: HSPA/WCDMA. Quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MhzConectividad Bluetooth 3.0 with FTP/OPP for file transferA2DP connectivity with headphones wirelessPBAP which allows connectivity with the Agenda from the car kit.WIFI 802.11b/g/nGPS internal.THE TERMINAL weight: 130 g with the bateríaMEDIDAS: high bandwidth thickness: 115 59.8 11.6 mmThe terminal is with a one-piece black steel casing . On the back it brings two pieces of plastic with a typical finish of HTC mate, very soft to the touch. The volume and on son of shiny silver coloured plastic buttons. The headset would also come in grid reminiscent of models such as the EVO or terminals of the American continent with 4 G that we do not have here. I think a design attractive and successful. While it is true, as in most cases of HTC, open the cover to take out the SIM or micro SD is an ordeal. In this terminal you leave the nail trying to open it and opening, sounds in a way that it seems that you've broken something. The cover does not adjust well and makes noises. I think a serious defect of quality of finish that HTC should have cared to the maximum.
According to manufacturer's specificationsthe battery of Li-Ion of 1450mAh would up 590 duration in conversation minutes in GSM networks and 435 minutes for WCDMA. Standby battery life times would be up to 455 hours in WCDMA and 430 hours in GSM. This paragraph can not it defined accurately. I have been checking the performance and the battery deteriorates. For the moment it seems quite correct, because to it has lasted me about 12 hours from the fully loaded with enough time to ignition of the screen, videos, music, navigation... As you pass a little time I'll have more discretion on this section.
The screen is of identical size, 3, 7 SLCD, the original desire. Same type which do not differ just colors, perhaps the S Desire has something more brightness. If I have noticed that in foreign environments with lots of light, the S Desire lost loses much of the visibility thing that the desire isn't him. The size, in my opinion, is correct for the resolution that brings. More of this size at resolutions of 800 × 480 seems excessive and begins to highlight the pixel on the phone. The touch response is very good. It is right in most of the time in the place that you are pressing.
The bottom button is touch, and responds very well to keystrokes. It lights up automatically in environments with low light and turns off the lights illuminated environments. The multicolor led which incorporates at the top of the screen comes on the line of terminals HTC, useful in most cases. The sensors would be in the upper left part of the telephone, light and proximity sensors. Both work perfectly and perform their functions, provided that you want. Automatic lighting fits pretty well and pretty fast to the changes of light and others.
In terms of mobile connectivity has everything what can be expected. HSPA and compatible with A2DP and PBAP Bluetooth 3.0 that you can use if you have compatible devices. GPS course to use your browser preferred either Google Navigator that works pretty well. Wifi out in order to enjoy connectivity to Internet in your home. First problem I've found and it seems serious, by placing the hand on top, next to the screen, the device loses coverage wifi, around 30%. We can be to another 'antenagate'. Not be if it is a matter of software (I doubt it) or hardware, but I think it is a terrible mistake. On the mobile coverage (which unfortunately in my house is not very good) this phone goes well stopped. It has a pretty good quality where other terminals lose coverage. It is a point in its favour.
The terminal comes with a 3.5 mm headphone outlet and radio. I've tried the audio quality has, which is excellent. For lovers of the music I'm sure it will give you hours and hours of listening to your favorite music and that you can listen in excellent quality. The radio coverage is decent enough, always depending on the headphones that you are using, but with their own HTC takes quite well. The headphones are the next including HTC in their models, with button in the micro to change track and pick up the phone.
In short, it's an update of the first HTC Desire, no more. I have a very good assessment of what brings this terminal with respect to its predecessor. While it is not a terminal in high range as it will be the SII Galaxy or the Optimus 2 X with dual-core and other processors, but nor is its price. It seems a good bet the terminal with the bugs that had the first Desire to renew. More memory RAM and ROM and the keypad has been renewed completely, buttons that so many headaches It has given to its users. In next post, I would like to evaluate the software and the HTC Sense 2.1.
