At this point nothing surprises us. Many companies, until some that had never engaged in mobile telephony, decided to break into the market of smartphones with its own model. As we know, many of them have chosen to Android as a mobile operating system of its terminals.

Now it is not a company, but the army of United States. That is, the army is preparing an Android-powered smartphone.

According to sources, the army of United States is already testing a prototype of smartphone called joint battle command-platform (JBC-P) that runs Android and was developed by the non-profit association MITRE.

The device weighs about 900 g, even when it is connected to a radio, that is much lighter than the Nett Warrior system used by the soldiers of that country at present.

In addition, the army plans to launch in the month of July a kit of applications development called mobile/handheld computing environment, with which it will be possible to create apps for various mobile devices.

The mobile phone will include systems of maps and geolocation of the Allied forces, as well as a system of sending an "important message", an address book and OpenOffice to view the documents.
